In this section, I've compiled projects I developed during my programming training at 42, a period that has allowed me to delve deeper into development fundamentals, logic, and problem-solving. These projects demonstrate my ability to understand the technical aspects of digital products and collaborate effectively with engineering teams, primarily working with C.

get_next_line

This project was the second one I developed during my training at 42. The goal was to create a function capable of reading a file and returning its content line by line, while maintaining the reading state between consecutive calls.

To solve it, I decided to approach the implementation differently from the usual method by using linked lists to manage and store the information that had been read. Although this decision added extra complexity to the project, it allowed me to work with a data structure I understood better and deepen my knowledge of concepts such as memory management, data organization, and programming logic.

After a process of research, development, and problem-solving, I successfully completed the project and consolidated new knowledge about C programming.

Libft library

During my training at 42, I developed several programming projects, including Libft, a library built from scratch in the C language with the main goal of reimplementing part of the functions available in the language’s standard library.

This project represented a shift from my previous experience, which was mainly focused on design, as it required working from a perspective closer to the inner workings of software, with special attention to memory management, data structures, programming logic, and development best practices.

The main challenge was understanding the behaviour of existing functions and reproducing their functionality without relying on the original implementation, ensuring that each new function met the expected requirements while remaining efficient and reliable.

To achieve this, I analysed how each method worked, designed solutions adapted to the project’s constraints, and developed my own library applying principles of clean code, reusability, and modular organisation.

The result was a reusable set of C tools that could serve as a foundation for future projects, along with a significant improvement in my low-level programming knowledge and a consolidation of concepts previously acquired during my Higher Technical Degree in Multiplatform Application Development.

ft_printf

This project was the third one I developed during my training at 42 and consisted of implementing my own version of the C language’s printf function.

The goal was to recreate the behaviour of one of the language’s most widely used functions, handling different data types and output formats. To achieve this, I worked with variadic arguments, learned how to manipulate different types of data, and developed the required conversions for the c, s, p, d, i, u, x, X, and % format specifiers.

Additionally, the project had to comply with 42’s programming standards and constraints, including the creation of a compilation system using a Makefile.

This exercise allowed me to deepen my understanding of concepts such as memory management, data structures, code modularization, and good development practices in C.
